Fluridone (EL-171) is a potent inhibitor of abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis, suppressing AchnFAR and TF gene expression to reduce primary alcohol formation. This small molecule is widely used in plant physiology research to study carotenoid and ABA pathways and is also applied as an aquatic herbicide for invasive species control.
