Osteoprotegerin (OPG) is a secreted decoy receptor from the TNF receptor superfamily that potently inhibits osteoclast formation and bone resorption. It is widely used in vitro and in vivo to study bone metabolism, osteoporosis, and cancer-related bone diseases.
