Ent-Abacavir
Abacavir is the enantiomerically pure form of a carbocyclic nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor used in HIV research. It is metabolically activated intracellularly to carbovir triphosphate, which inhibits viral replication. This small molecule is applied in both in vitro enzymatic assays and in vivo models to study antiretroviral mechanisms and resistance.
