Dicoumarol
Dicoumarol is a natural hydroxycoumarin anticoagulant that acts as a competitive inhibitor of vitamin K epoxide reductase, disrupting vitamin K recycling. This inhibition depletes active vitamin K, preventing the synthesis of functional prothrombin and other clotting factors. It is widely used in coagulation research and in vivo models to study thrombosis and vitamin K-dependent processes.
