BPH-652 is a potent inhibitor of Staphylococcus aureus CrtM (dehydrosqualene synthase), exhibiting a Ki of 1.5 nM. It effectively blocks staphyloxanthin pigment biosynthesis (IC50 100-300 nM) and is a valuable research tool for studying S. aureus virulence, both in vitro and in animal infection models.
