Galidesivir triphosphate, the active metabolite of the prodrug Galidesivir, acts as a substrate for viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerases like HCV NS5B, leading to chain termination. It has demonstrated antiviral activity in vitro and shown protective efficacy in murine models of Ebola virus infection.
