2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) is a full agonist of neuronal cannabinoid receptors. This endogenous endocannabinoid is a key research tool for studying synaptic plasticity, as it inhibits the induction of long-term potentiation at hippocampal CA3–CA1 synapses in both in vitro and in vivo models.
