AVX 13616 is a broad-spectrum antibacterial candidate with potent in vivo efficacy against drug-resistant staphylococci, including MRSA. Its activity, comparable to mupirocin, is demonstrated in topical infection models such as nasal decolonization and wound treatment, where a single application showed significant effectiveness.
