BAL30072 is a siderophore sulfactam monocyclic β-lactam antibiotic active against multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria, demonstrating MIC90 values of 4 μg/mL for MDR Acinetobacter spp. and 8 μg/mL for MDR P. aeruginosa. It is a research tool for studying novel β-lactamase inhibition and bacterial iron uptake mechanisms in in vitro susceptibility assays.
