Lapaquistat acetate
Lapaquistat acetate (TAK-475) is a squalene synthase inhibitor investigated for hypercholesterolemia research. It demonstrates anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown in vitro to reduce statin-induced toxicity in human muscle cells, as well as in vivo to protect guinea pigs from simvastatin-induced myotoxicity.
