Deoxynivalenol (Vomitoxin) is a Fusarium mycotoxin from the trichothecene family that contaminates food and feed. It crosses intestinal tight junctions via a cellular bypass, unaffected by PgP or MRP inhibitors, and induces gastrointestinal effects like diarrhea and inflammation.
