Tenuazonic acid
Tenuazonic acid is a nonhost-selective mycotoxin from Alternaria alternata that acts as a potent, broad-spectrum photosystem II (PSII) inhibitor. It functions by binding to the D1 protein, thereby blocking electron transport at the QA site. This inhibitor is used in photosynthesis research, including in vitro studies of herbicide mechanisms and electron transport chain dynamics.
