Methyl aminolevulinate
Methyl aminolevulinate is a prodrug metabolized to the photosensitizer Protoporphyrin IX. It is used in photodynamic therapy (PDT) research for investigating topical treatment of actinic keratosis and basal cell carcinoma in both in vitro and preclinical in vivo models.
