Tetramethrin is a Type I synthetic pyrethroid that disrupts sodium channel inactivation in insect neurons, resulting in prolonged depolarization. It is widely used in neuroscience and insecticide research for studying neurotoxicity and channel kinetics in both in vitro electrophysiology and in vivo insect models.
