N, N-Dimethylsphingosine
N, N-Dimethylsphingosine (DMS) is an endogenous, competitive inhibitor of sphingosine kinase (SphK) that selectively blocks sphingosine phosphorylation. Elevated in neuropathic pain models, it is used in research to study mechanisms of mechanical nociception, including the potentiation of IL-1β and MCP-1 release in vitro and in vivo.
