R-130823 is a potent and selective p38α MAPK inhibitor (IC50=22 nM) that suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokine release in vitro. It demonstrates significant in vivo efficacy by reducing established paw swelling and hyperalgesia in a rat adjuvant-induced arthritis model.
