GYKI 52466 is a selective allosteric antagonist of AMPA receptors, inhibiting AMPA- and kainate-induced currents in vitro (IC50 = 7.5 μM and 11 μM, respectively) . In vivo, it demonstrates anticonvulsant activity in a 4-AP seizure model and is neuroprotective in a rat global ischemia model, highlighting its utility in neuroscience research.
