OX1a is a small molecule antagonist that non-competitively inhibits insect odorant receptor (OR) complexes by targeting the conserved Orco subunit. This tool compound is used in both in vitro electrophysiology and in vivo behavioral assays to study olfaction, pest control strategies, and insect neurobiology.
