SW IV-52 is a small molecule SMAC mimetic that functions as an inhibitor of XIAP (X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein) . It promotes apoptosis by antagonizing IAP proteins and has been utilized in both in vitro and in vivo cancer research to study cell death pathways and therapeutic resistance.
