Niridazole
Niridazole (Ambilhar) is a nitroimidazole antiparasitic agent used primarily in research on schistosomiasis. It acts by selectively accumulating in the parasite, inhibiting phosphofructokinase to disrupt energy metabolism, and impairing reproductive functions. This compound has been utilized in both in vivo and in vitro experimental models for studying trematode infections.
