Olanexidine hydrochloride (OPB-2045 HCl) is a broad-spectrum bactericidal agent effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by disrupting microbial membrane integrity, as demonstrated in studies against S. aureus. It is applied in research for evaluating novel antiseptics in both in vitro microbiological assays and in vivo infection model studies.
