Ro 19-1400 is a selective platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor antagonist. It directly suppresses IgE-dependent histamine and mediator release from mast cells and basophils, making it a useful research tool for studying allergic and inflammatory responses in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
