In anesthetized open-chest dogs, KT 1 reduces aortic pressure, renal blood flow, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure, and several vascular resistances while increasing aortic flow, vertebral and coronary flow, peak LV dP/dt, and heart rate. This small molecule is a research tool for studying cardiovascular hemodynamics and peripheral resistance in in vivo models.
