O-Iodohippurate sodium
O-Iodohippurate sodium is a p-aminohippuric acid analog employed in renal research to measure effective renal plasma flow. Its high clearance, primarily via tubular secretion, makes it an excellent radiopharmaceutical for renography, with approximately 85% excreted in urine within 30 minutes in normal subjects. This compound is widely used in preclinical in vivo studies of kidney function and tubular transport mechanisms.
