Opc 8490 is a cardiotonic and positive inotropic vasodilator. It reversibly enhances L-type calcium current (ICa) and prolongs atrial action potential duration in a concentration-dependent manner. This compound is utilized in cardiovascular research to study cardiac excitation-contraction coupling and hemodynamics in both in vitro and in vivo models.
