Vinthionine

Vinthionine forms covalent adducts with DNA, RNA, and protein in rat liver during in vivo studies, but this binding activity is not observed under in vitro conditions. This property makes it a useful research tool for investigating mechanisms of metabolic activation, covalent binding, and comparative toxicology in live animal models versus cell-free systems.
