Ent-Prostaglandin E2
Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) exists as a single enantiomer when formed enzymatically, but oxidative stress generates racemic PGE2 via the isoprostane pathway. This racemic mixture, including ent-PGE2, is a key biomarker for studying oxidative injury and inflammation in both cellular and animal models of disease.
