Beauveriolide III
Beauveriolide III is a fungal cyclodepsipeptide that inhibits cholesterol synthesis (IC50=0.41 μM) and ACAT activity (IC50=5.5 μM), thereby reducing lipid droplet formation. It has demonstrated anti-atherosclerotic effects, significantly decreasing lesion size in Ldlr-/- and ApoE-/- mouse models at doses of 25-50 mg/kg.
