C8 L-threo Ceramide (d18:1/8:0)
C8 L-threo Ceramide is a cell-permeable, cytotoxic sphingolipid analog that potently induces DNA fragmentation in U937 cells. It is also used to study membrane pore formation, such as with V. cholerae cytolysin in liposome models, making it a tool for apoptosis and membrane biophysics research in vitro.
