Leptin, aa131-145 (Ob, Obese Protein, Obesity Factor)

May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 °C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes Leptin (Human) and Leptin (131-145). Does not react to Epidermal Growth Factor (Human), Insulin (Human), Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (Human), Insulin-like Growth Factor 2 (Rat), Parathyroid hormone (Human) and Transforming Growth Factor-alpha (Human). Has been shown to bind to the carboxyl terminal region of the protein and has been found to bind to intact leptin specifically in ELISAs, in Western immunoblots and by immunocytochemistry.
