Resolvin D1 methyl ester
Resolvin D1 methyl ester is a lipophilic prodrug form of the specialized pro-resolving mediator RvD1, which is enzymatically derived from docosahexaenoic acid. Intracellular esterases cleave the ester to release the active free acid, which potently inhibits neutrophil transendothelial migration (EC50 ~30 nM) to resolve inflammation. This compound is a key research tool for studying inflammation resolution mechanisms in both cellular and animal models of disease.
