Antimycin A4
Antimycin A4, the most polar congener in the antimycin complex, is an inhibitor of ATP-citrate lyase (Ki=64.8 μM) and mitochondrial complex III. This inhibition blocks electron transport, depletes ATP, and increases superoxide production, making it a key research tool for studying respiration, apoptosis via Bcl-2/Bcl-xL inhibition, and oxidative stress in vitro.
