GSK951A is a small molecule inhibitor targeting the EchA6 enzyme and fatty acid synthase II (FAS-II) in mycobacteria. It potently blocks mycolic acid biosynthesis and suppresses methoxy-, keto-, and alpha-mycolates (MAMEs) in M. bovis BCG, while leaving FAMEs largely intact, making it a valuable tool for studying mycobacterial cell wall synthesis in vitro.
