(±) -Clopidogrel (hydrochloride)
Clopidogrel (Plavix) is a prodrug that, upon activation by CYP2C19, irreversibly inhibits the platelet P2Y12 receptor (IC50 = 100 nM) to block ADP-induced aggregation. It is widely used in cardiovascular research to study thrombosis and is a standard antiplatelet therapy, often combined with aspirin, in both in vitro and in vivo models of arterial disease.
