KR-32568 is a potent and selective NHE-1 inhibitor (IC50: 230 nM) with demonstrated cardioprotective properties. In vitro, it restored cardiac function in ischemic rat hearts, while in vivo administration significantly reduced myocardial infarct size in rat models of ischemia-reperfusion injury.
