Thiocarlide
Thiocarlide (Isoxyl) is a historical thiourea antitubercular agent with in vitro activity against multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It inhibits mycolic acid synthesis and exhibits a unique partial inhibition of fatty acid biosynthesis. Research applications include studying mycobacterial lipid metabolism and mechanisms of drug resistance.
