6-Aminophenanthridine is a small molecule antiprion agent that inhibits the ribosome's protein folding activity (PFAR) . It demonstrates efficacy in both yeast and mammalian cell-based assays and shows therapeutic potential in Drosophila models of oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy by reducing muscle degeneration and nuclear inclusions.
