This small molecule agonist selectively activates the C3a receptor (C3aR), a GPCR in the complement system. It is used in research to study immunomodulation, such as inhibiting neutrophil mobilization in intestinal ischemia-reperfusion models, and neurobiology, where it promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro.
