Nω-allyl-L-arginine

Nω-allyl-L-arginine is a time-dependent, reversible competitive inhibitor of bovine neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) . It also serves as a substrate for the enzyme, yielding L-arginine, acrolein, and hydrogen peroxide. This dual-action molecule is utilized in vitro to study NOS enzymology and nitric oxide signaling pathways.
