NCT-501 hydrochloride is a potent and selective ALDH1A1 inhibitor derived from theophylline, with an IC50 of 40 nM. It shows >1000-fold selectivity over other ALDH isoforms. This tool compound is used in cancer stem cell research and has been applied in both in vitro and in vivo studies to investigate tumorigenesis and chemoresistance.
