DL-TBOA ammonium is a potent, non-substrate inhibitor of excitatory amino acid transporters (EAATs) . It competitively inhibits glutamate uptake with low micromolar affinity across EAAT1-5 subtypes, making it a key pharmacological tool for studying glutamatergic neurotransmission in both cellular and animal models of neurological function and disease.
