Hexidium iodide
Hexidium iodide is a cell-permeant fluorescent nucleic acid stain for mammalian cells and gram-positive bacteria, with excitation/emission near 518/600 nm. Following EDTA permeabilization, it can label all bacterial species. It is widely used for viability assessment and microbial detection in both in vitro and in vivo imaging studies.
