CBR-470-1 is a non-covalent NRF2 activator that inhibits glycolytic PGK1, leading to increased methylglyoxal and subsequent activation of the Keap1-NRF2 cascade. It demonstrates neuroprotective activity in vitro, such as protecting SH-SY5Y neuronal cells from MPP+-induced cytotoxicity.
