Anti - Leptin Receptor (OBR, LEPR, B219, Obese Receptor)

May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 °C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Mouse sequence is unique to the OBRb long form. It is not found in OBR isoforms a and c-f. It is 100% conserved rat, 84% in porcine, turkey and chicken, 76% in sheep, human and monkey OBRb. Has no significant homology to gp130. Control peptide, because of its small size (2-3kD), is not recommended for Western. It is recommed for ELISA, dot blot, or for antibody blocking experiments (use 5-10 ug of control peptide per 1 ug of aff pure IgG or 1 ul of antiserum) to demonstrate antibody specificity.
