Storage Conditions

Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 °C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specificity

Recognizes Met 5-Enkephalin. The reactivity of Leu 5-enkephalin is 4%, beta-Endorphin and Dynorphin A is less than 0.001%. Does not react to Atrial Natriuretic Polypeptide (human), ACTH (human, 1-39), Calcitonin, Epidermal growth factor (human), Somatostatin 28, Transforming growth factor-alpha and Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide. Specific for Met 5-enkephalin and is suitable for use in histochemical preparations of tissues or cells.
