PA-8 is a selective, orally bioavailable small molecule antagonist of the PAC1 receptor. It potently inhibits PACAP-induced cAMP production and CREB phosphorylation in vitro (IC50 = 2 nM) and blocks PACAP-mediated aversive behavior and mechanical pain in vivo, making it a valuable tool for neuroscience and pain research.
