OB 24 hydrochloride is a selective HO-1 inhibitor with an IC50 of 1.9 μM for HO-1 versus >100 μM for HO-2. It reduces oxidative stress markers and proliferation in prostate cancer cells in vitro and suppresses tumor growth and metastasis in vivo, showing synergistic activity with Taxol.
