CLAC-P, NC2-2 Region (Collagen-like Alzheimer Amyloid Plaque Component)

May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 °C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Reacts with residues 155-169 [KGEQGDQGPRMVFPK] of the NC2-2 region of human and mouse CLAC-P. Detects bands of 50, 70 and 100kD in SPs of AD brain, but not in diffuse plaques of non-demented aged individuals, diffuse deposits in sub-cortical structures and cerebellum in AD nor in cerebral amyloid angiopathy.
