Hepcidin 25 (Hepc, LEAP, Hepatic Bactericidal Protein, Liver Expressed Antimicrobial Peptide)

Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 °C. Stable for 12 months at -20 °C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O or PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 °C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes mouse/humanHepcidin 25. The mouse sequences from mouse/rat and human differ by just 1aa in 25aa mature HEPC. The sequence is truncated by 5aa in the 20aa major secreted HEPC. No significant crossreactivity with 20aa HEPC peptide. May crossreacts with the unprocessed larger 60aa pro-HEPC if present in the samples or tissues.
