Storage Conditions

May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 °C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specificity

The 17 AA rat control peptide is 93% conserved in human CLC-K1 or CLC-Ka. It also has high homology with rat CLC-K2 and 81% with human CLC-K2. Anti-rat CLCK11 should crossreact with both CLC-K1 and CLC-K2. No significant sequence homology is detected with other CLCs or other proteins. Actual crossreactivity of antibodies in various species has not been studied. Control peptides, because of their low MW (<3kD), are not suitable for Western. It should be used for ELISA or antibody blocking to confirm antibody specificity
